Camp: Introduction to Cooking and Baking

Ages: Kindergarten - 5th grade

Dates: Monday, June 10 - Friday, June 14

Times: 9am - 1pm

Cost: $300 (includes all snacks and lunch)

Introduction to Cooking and Baking is a great way for kids of any experience level to learn to prepare delicious, colorful snacks and meals.

Kids who are new to the kitchen will develop a strong foundation - identifying tools and cooking techniques, preparing produce with lettuce knives, learning to measure ingredients by weight and volume, and actively helping to prepare a variety of recipes. Kids who have more experience will practice knife skills, work through more advanced recipes, and even have opportunities to improvise with our popular mystery box challenges!

No matter what their age or experience level, all of our campers gain practical cooking skills, craft ways to present their creations, and work in small groups to prepare snacks and lunches.

Camp Activities

Sample dishes your child will learn to cook (these vary from week-to-week):

- Drop Biscuits with Honey Butter

- Strawberry Banana Smoothies

- Cowboy Caviar with Homemade Tortilla Chips

- Watermelon Granita

- One-Egg Mini Quiches

- From-Scratch "Cheezits"

- Soft Pretzels with Honey Mustard

- Rainbow Fruit Skewers with Yogurt Dip

- Crudite with Herby Ranch Dressing

- Homemade Pancake Mix (and pancakes with all the toppings!)

- Puff Pastry Pizzas

In addition to teaching fundamentals of cooking and baking, we play games and learn hosting skills that will serve your child for years to come.

Personalized Cookbook

Your child will build his or her own cookbook throughout each of our lessons so that he or she can recreate all of the recipes at home after camp ends.

VIP Lunch

Each week will culminate in a lunch prepared by our campers and presented to his or her special guest. This is a fun way for your child to show off their new skills! The lunch will take place at noon on Friday.

Everything is Included

The cost of camp includes all snacks and lunches (plus a few treats). We offer lots of options so that there is something for everyone at every meal. All they need to bring each day is themselves and a water bottle!
