August 4-8 Cooking Camp

Join Jess and her team for cooking camp this summer!

Our culinary camps are designed for kids who have completed kindergarten through 7th grade. Both returning and new campers will learn and practice the fundamentals of cooking and baking through a curriculum that builds throughout the week.

All of our groups are taught by professional chef (and mom to three girls) Jess Smith and guided by our team of trained high school and college counselors. Learn more about Jess here.

Campers are divided into groups with similar-aged kids. (If your camper is attending with a friend, be sure to note that your registration.)

Skills Covered

Every day of camp includes a baking and cooking lesson. Campers learn to prepare the lunch that we all eat together that day.

Our skills build throughout the week and include:

• knife skills

• cooking fundamentals like preparing vegetables, proteins, vinaigrettes, sauces, and more

• baking fundamentals like measuring liquid vs. dry ingredients, common terms, and understanding how certain ingredients affect the outcome of baked goods

• mis en place

• reading and executing a recipe

• understanding how to use a large variety of common cooking tools

We also practice setting the table and table manners through fun crafts and games.

Campers receive a copy of every recipe we make.

NEW! This summer we are offering a middle school track with advanced activities for our older campers to learn about meal planning, grocery budgets, and independently executing basic meals from start to finish.

Hours

Summer camps run Monday-Friday, from 9am - 1pm.

We offer an extended day option until 2pm. *1pm - 2pm does not include cooking lessons but is supervised time to play games, do crafts, and play outside if the weather allows.

VIP Lunch

Every Friday our campers host a VIP lunch which is one of the highlights of the week! Each camper can invite one guest to lunch. Campers will prepare and serve a three-course lunch to their VIP, showcasing all of the skills that they learned.

Cost

Cost of camp (9am - 1pm): $350 / week

Cost of extended day until 2pm: $50 / week

*10% sibling discount applies for camp registration (not available for extended day)

Everything is Included

The cost of camp includes all snacks and lunches. We offer lots of options so that there is something for everyone at every meal. All your camper needs to bring is a water bottle!

Your registration fee also includes lunch for the camper's guest at the VIP lunch on Friday.

Cancellation Policy

We can offer a refund for cancellations as long as we are able to fill your spot with someone from the waitlist. If something has changed in your schedule, reach out to us at camp@inquiringchef.com as soon as possible to inquire about the possibility of filling your spot.

Important: We are unable to offer a refund for cancellations made with less than 3 days (72 hours) remaining before the start of camp.
